What is Via De Cristo?

Via De Cristo is a Spanish phrase meaning "Way of Christ". Via De Cristo is a highly structured three day weekend designed to strengthen and renew the faith of Christian people and brings them to a new awareness of living in God's grace. It is a combined effort of lay people and clergy toward renewal of the church. A Via De Cristo Weekend is three days, BUT IT LASTS A LIFETIME!!

A Via de Cristo weekend begins on Thursday evening and ends Sunday afternoon - three busy but joy filled days. Participants live and study together with lots of singing, prayer and worship. Discussions center around inspiring talks given by both laity and clergy. These talks emphasize God's grace, its reality in your life, and how to share His grace with others. You'll also have the opportunity to participate in the daily celebration of Holy Communion and to deepen your understanding of the real presence of Christ in His body of believers.

How does one attend a Via de Cristo Weekend?

The process has the following steps:

  • Look at the Via de Cristo website (http://www.encvdc.org). The website has a lot of great information about the weekend. The current dates and locations for weekends are:
February 23-26, 2017 at Camp Agape, near Fuquay Varina
Sept 14 - 17, 2017 at Camp Agape, near Fuquay Varina

If you do not have internet access, speak to one of the previous weekend attendees.

  • Sponsorship. Each attendee is assigned a sponsor. A sponsor is responsible for arranging your travel to and from the location of the Via de Cristo weekend, He/She should also be able to answer any of your questions about the weekend and set expectations. Possible sponsors are specified with an "*" next to the first names listed above. If you need help identifying a sponsor contact either:
    Susan Collins Ron Bostick

  • Have Pastor Mark or Pastor Dave sign the registration form.

  • Send in the registration form and check to the address specified on the registration form. The cost of the
weekend is approximately $150 per person. This covers all of the expenses. Resurrection is willing to help with some of the expenses.  You can speak to Pastor Mark about obtaining this information.  There are a maximum number of guests that can attend a weekend. The sooner your application is submitted the greater the chances that you will be able to attend.
